Bruce Diederich, President

Bruce has been in the roofing industry for the majority of his life. He began working as a laborer for his father’s roofing company, learning the shingling trade in two years. In 1971, he made the move to retail building material sales as a salesperson, and was promoted to Branch Manager in two years, a position he held until 1975, when he made the move to selling building materials to builders and general contractors. He eventually moved to Fort Meyers, Florida in 1980 selling various types of lumber, millwork and hardware to professional builders and general contractors. In 1984, Bruce returned to the Chicago area and purchased Standard Material Company, a distributor of commercial and residential roofing materials. SMC closed in 1989 due to the economic conditions at the time, and Bruce went to work in material sales with several material distributors in the greater Chicago area. Then, in 1998, Bruce purchased WRC, a well-established Commercial, Residential and Industrial roofing contractor in business since 1914, and has been operating and growing the business steadily since then. During his 38 years of continuous service in the roofing and building materials sales and management industries, he has completed numerous training courses and certifications.

Tim Brooker, Senior Commercial Project Manager

Tim began his career in the roofing industry in 1983, concentrating mainly on the residential market in southern California. In 1991, he relocated to the Chicagoland area and began working in sales, estimating and project management for the commercial, industrial and institutional marketplace. He has over 26 years experience dealing with all major types of roofing systems, both for low-slope and steep-slope applications. He has been with the company since 2007.

Guy Capici, Assistant Project Manager
Guy first started working in the construction field through his studies of Architectural Design in the 90s. He took a little time away from the design field and worked as a retail manager for about 8 years and as a Sales Specialist with Lowes in their Millwork/Building Materials department for 3 years. For the last two and a half years, he has been working with Epstein as a CAD Technician. He is excited to have a more hands-on position with Waukegan Roofing.

Bill Lahey, Commercial Superintendant

Bill began his roofing career in 1975 as an apprentice with Brown and Kerr Roofing. After working his way through the apprenticeship program, he worked his way from journeyman to foreman, a position he held for over 10 years. Eventually, he was promoted to superintendent. He worked in this capacity for four years before finally joining Waukegan Roofing in 1999 as superintendant, the position he continues in today. Bill has completed extensive training during his 34 years of continuous service in the roofing industry. Some of the courses completed include, the OSHA 10 and 30 hour training program, Asbestos training, Scaffold training, the Army Corp of Engineers Construction Quality Management Course, Firestone installation training, Carlisle installation training, Johns Manville installation training, GAF/ELK installation training and the Lake County Contractors Associated General Contractors Supervisor Training Program.

Larry Koenigseder, Service Department Manager

Larry started his roofing career as an apprentice back in 1980. After finishing out the term of his apprenticeship, he moved up to the position of Journeyman, which he was employed in for a few months and then promoted to Foreman. He served in this position for 6 years. In 1989, he began working as a Serviceman, servicing and maintaining over 300 customers. After 10 years, Larry began managing the service department. In 2007, he met Bruce and made the decision to join Waukegan Roofing, heading up the Service and Maintenance Department for all of our customers.

Josh King, Sales / Residential Project Manager

Josh has been roofing for the past 10 years, 8 of them with Waukegan Roofing as a serviceman. He has been certified in asbestos, slate and tile, is GAF certified, Air vent certified and every year completes the OSHA 30 hour Safety refreshment class. He is also certified in CPR and has been GAF/ELK Master Elite Certified.

Sean Olinn, Sales Estimator
Sean started his roofing career in 1981 when he worked for Squire Roofing in Cleveland, Ohio. After many years with Squire, Sean relocated to his present day home of Libertyville, IL. Sean took on the task of owning his own successful roofing, siding, and window company. In July of 2010, Sean decided to switch back from the behind the scenes operating side of roofing, to the hands on sales side of roofing that he’s always loved. This brought him to Waukegan Roofing Co. Even after only having been here for a short period of time, Sean has already proven himself to be an employee focused on his customers needs, as well as a very capable individual with a wealth of experience and extensive product knowledge. Sean is certified by the NRCA and completed the OSHA Safety course. |

Clayton Fritch, Steep Slope Production Manager

Clayton first joined the union in 1984 and completed a four year apprenticeship. He was Apprentice of the Year, and was promoted to Foreman in 1990. In 2000, Clayton began working for Waukegan Roofing. He started as a serviceman, and within one year was asked to begin working in Residential Sales and Project Management. His responsibilities include measuring, scheduling crews, ordering materials and dumpsters and overall project management for residential jobs that he estimates. He has a number of industry awards and recognitions, among which are being a Haag Engineering Certified Roof Inspector, an Air Vent ventilation expert, as well as being Tile Roofing Institute Certified, a GAF/ELK C.A.R.E. attendee in both shingle and commercial roofing systems and a member of the Professional Roofing Advisory Council for CertainTeed in 2006. He is also certified in the Chicagoland Roofers Apprenticeship Training Program’s Asbestos Roofing Class.

Phil has been with Waukegan Roofing for over eight years and hold numerous certifications, such as Haag Engineering Certified Roof Inspector, GAF/ELK C.A.R.E. attendee, Air Vent ventilation expert and many others. He is also enrolled at the NRCA’s Future Executives Institute and will be completing that program by the year 2012, which will mark the 4th successful graduating class from this newer NRCA program. He is tasked with overseeing all of the residential and steep slope business.

Tiffany Happ, Office Manager

Tiffany has over eight years in the construction industry. She began by assisting the controller at a sewer and water subcontractor, then went on to work at the family business, Happ Builders, Inc., assisting in the accounting department and office management. In 2007, she joined “the firm” and handles the office billing, receiving and collections on all of our projects. While being detail oriented to ensure a smooth process with every account, a couple of her main focuses are maintaining strong customer relations with every customer and collections.

Originally from Stevens Point, WI, April has been bookkeeping collectively for about seven years. She took a short hiatus from bookkeeping to own her own restaurant for five years before returning to her roots. She has been with Waukegan Roofing since 2007, and handles all of the Accounts Payable responsibilities as well as general office support.
